Da Nu’s: Bleach on Break, All You Need is Cruise, New Ippo, more

Bleach to go on 5 week hiatus before finale

Kubo Tite’s Sword-slinging Shinigami manga Bleach is nearing it’s final chapter and to prepare for this the author is planning to take a 5 week break starting from Shonen Jump’s 35th issue. Bleach’s final battle “Sennen Kessen-Hen – Ketsubetsu-tan” will begin in SJ’s 41st issue on September 9th of this year. I guess it takes a long time to draw blank spaces and an over-abundance of speed lines.

“All You Need is Black Ops”

In a terrifying revelation the likes of the mercifully cancelled Cowboy Keanu and AmeriKira, Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s epic time-looping sci-fi action novel “All You Need is Kill” is set to open in the US on June 6th 2014 under the name “Edge of Tomorrow”. The film will star Tom Cruise Emily Blunt, Charlotte Riley, Kick Gurry, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste and is directed by the honestly not-too-shabby Doug Lipman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity). If we’re lucky the movie will be so far removed from the original IP it may turn out to be a half decent summer action flick and if it tries too hard to reference the source material but in a more “localized” way then we may end up with something like this:
