The Accident: A True Story About a True Story

Near the beginning of the year I got into a serious car accident and it was a life-changing experience to be certain. About two days later I was having a Skype convo with my good friend Hiei (not his real name) and below is an exact transcript. Please enjoy my trauma ^_^.

[1/11/2010 11:37:48 PM] Hiei: indeed

[1/11/2010 11:37:56 PM] Hiei: so i hear u r in trinidad

[1/11/2010 11:38:00 PM] Hiei: 🙂

[1/11/2010 11:38:12 PM] OA: only for one more week though

[1/11/2010 11:38:14 PM] Hiei: and immobilzed 😛

[1/11/2010 11:39:37 PM] OA: …..yes

[1/11/2010 11:39:42 PM] OA: news travels fast

[1/11/2010 11:39:44 PM] Hiei: what happened

[1/11/2010 11:39:50 PM] OA: *sigh*

[1/11/2010 11:41:04 PM] OA: I was leaving Movie Towne after watching Robert Downey Jr. shit all over the image of my favourite classic literature detective so I needed some music to get my spirits up…

[1/11/2010 11:41:37 PM] OA: I get in my car and pop in the special CD that I keep for just such an event and I turn the volume up to full blast.

[1/11/2010 11:42:33 PM] OA: as the sound of my favourite feel good song begins to reverberate throughout the vehicle I feel all of my Rock Lee-esque youthful energy coming to the fore bursting forth in a Gurren Lagann sized explosion of awesome…

[1/11/2010 11:44:02 PM] OA: I peel out of the Movie Towne parking lot and make my way along the stretch of road behind the Hasley Crawford stadium, bobbing my head excitedly and peering momentarily at the Gundam-sized (and apparently Gundam-priced) flagpole and national flag….

[1/11/2010 11:44:40 PM] OA: The Road is clear, the Music is pumping, I’m approaching the chorus and getting ready…

[1/11/2010 11:45:52 PM] OA: I’m also approaching the corner and getting ready, but it was far too late and like Brolly, I can’t seem to stop once I get going….

[1/11/2010 11:47:30 PM] OA: I slam the brakes with as much force as Sanosuke slams his fist into an opponent’s stomach…

[1/11/2010 11:49:33 PM] OA: There is a loud screech like the cry of a mad Chiropteran before Saya slays them with her Katana. The car makes an impossible turn and slams sideways into a wall the way a Spirit Bomb slams into the hapless body of one of Goku’s enemies…

[1/11/2010 11:50:32 PM] OA: The car makes a mad turn and whips around to the other side of the street in a fast whipping motion that reminds me of one of Luffy’s Gomu Gomu moves…

[1/11/2010 11:52:29 PM] OA: The airbag deploys and smothers my face like a giant pair of breasts a la Chizuru from Kanokon and then the car comes to a sudden halt…

[1/11/2010 11:54:24 PM] OA: I make a quick check of myself to ensure that all of my body parts are still intact and attached to my torso (there goes my chance of being an awesome cyborg like Bato or the Major 😦 ) and I open the door of my totaled vehicle and take a seat on the pavement next to it surveying the wreckage like Dr. Blackjack inspecting a patient….

[1/11/2010 11:56:10 PM] OA: I ponder at the curious circumstances of my survival and general unharmed state and soon thoughts begin to cross my mind ‘I must be immortal like Duncan Macleod, or Alucard or Seto Kaiba’s ego!’….

[1/11/2010 11:58:27 PM] OA: I get out my cell phone and call my mother, hoping she will be as understanding and forgiving as Mutsumi from Love Hina.

“Yare yare,” I say to myself “how troublesome…”.

[1/11/2010 11:58:32 PM] OA: Fin.

In case you were wondering the CD was Backstreet Boys’ “Millenium” album and the song was “Larger than Life” . It was still playing after the impact -_-….

Namaste Nerds!
